Cashman Field, Las Vegas, Nevada A Triple A minor league baseball affiliate of the Los Angeles Dodgers, the Las Vegas 51s compete in the 16-team Pacific Coast League. The team name is derived from the nearby “Area 51,” a secret U.S. government base that has been rife with UFO sightings over the years.
During the baseball season, which runs from April through September, the Las Vegas 51s compete against the likes of the Iowa Cubs, Memphis Redbirds, Nashville Sounds, Omaha Royals, Portland Beavers, Salt Lake Bees, Sacramento River Cats and others.
