Las Vegas Travel Tips
Las Vegas is a year-round destination that averages approximately 320 days of sun annually. Note: Summer temperatures in Las Vegas regularly rise above 100 degrees Fahrenheit.
Most banks, hotels and resorts offer foreign money exchange. Although many casino cashiers will accept foreign currency and exchange it for U.S. dollars, you cannot purchase foreign currency from them. In hotels or resorts, visit guest services or the front desk.
Waiters & Waitresses: 15 to 20 percent
Bell Captains/Bellmen: $1 to $2 per bag
Concierge/VIP Services: $5
Valet Parking Attendant: $2
Housekeeping: $2 per day
Bartenders: 15 to 20 percent
Taxi Drivers: 15 to 20 percent
Cocktail Waitresses: $1 per drink
If you’re traveling during a peak season, be sure to secure your reservations as soon as possible. If you wait too long for airline and car rental reservations, they may be completely booked or fairly expensive. Also, if you have pets and plan to board them in a kennel while you’re gone, you should make arrangements as early as possible.
